What Causes Thyroid Hormones to Increase?

Low hormone production is usually a result of one of three things… lack of nutrients in diet… inability to digest the food you eat… or a toxic body (gut, liver, etc…)

If you want your thyroid hormones to increase, then you need to focus on improving three things:

#1 Eat foods that give your body the raw materials it needs to produce thyroid hormones

#2 Improve your digestion so that your body can take nutrients from food and make thyroid hormones

#3 Clean your body to remove toxins that inhibit hormone production

Why your thyroid hormone production is low

The most common reason we see why people struggle to produce thyroid hormones is because they avoid the foods the thyroid needs to make hormones…

Often times, people are told to cut out foods like gluten, dairy and sugar… this is a big problem when you have low thyroid hormone production because the body needs saturated fat and cholesterol to make hormones and dairy is one of the best sources of both…

Now, I understand why people are told to cut out these foods… it’s mostly because of poor digestion…

In other words… the problem isn’t gluten, dairy or sugar… the problem is poor digestion…

Cutting out these foods alleviates inflammation caused by poor digestion, but it doesn’t fix digestive issues…

That makes it a short term solution, not a long term solution…

When you cut out these food groups, you are now depriving your body of important nutrients… it’s fascinating to see that the most common ingredients found in thyroid support supplements are things like: iodine, iron, selenium, copper, zinc, vitamin A, vitamin D, B vitamins (biotin, folate, riboflavin), etc.

All of these nutrients are found in egg yolk and they come in a form that the body can easily absorb and use… thyroid supplements use isolated forms of these nutrients, which means the body can’t easily absorb it and often times create other mineral deficiencies as your body tries to process non-food sources of these nutrients…

That’s why we strongly encourage to stop thyroid supplements and instead focus on helping your body digest food better….

How to Boost Thyroid Function

Here’s the biggest problem with following advice like “cut out gluten”… as mentioned above, the real problem is poor digestion, not gluten…

How many people do you know who eat gluten all the time and are just fine?

It’s because they have good digestion… and that’s key for hormone production because your body needs to be able to break down protein into amino acids to make hormones…

The “T” in thyroid hormone T4 stands for Tyrosine, which is an amino acid. If you can’t digest protein, then your body won’t be able to get enough tyrosine to make thyroid hormone…

The same happens with other hormones, which is why it’s common for people with low thyroid hormone to be low in other hormones like melatonin (the sleeping hormone), serotonin and dopamine (the feel good happy hormones), etc…

Once you see that, it starts making more sense why low thyroid function is often associated with anxiety and depression… mood swings and feeling miserable to a point where you don’t recognize your body…

Cutting out gluten, helps inflammation, but it doesn’t help protein digestion so it doesn’t help you get Tyrosine for thyroid hormone production…

That’s why improving your digestion will help you improve thyroid function more so than cutting out food groups…

Toxins that inhibit thyroid hormone production

What breaks digestion more than anything is low quality food… many health professionals claim that food has little to do with low thyroid, but the more you look at our food supply and experience better quality food, the more dots begin to connect and you soon start to understand how you got yourself in this mess… and most importantly, how to get out of it…

Probiotics are what digest food for you and turn it into nutrients for hormone production… but in order for probiotics to do this, they need to have a clean, safe environment… when you eat food that lacks minerals or comes from unhealthy animals, you are essentially consuming toxic food, which begins to pollute your gut…

Our food has gotten progressively worse, which is why low thyroid is becoming more common in younger women even in their 20’s… when it primarily affects those in their 30’s and 40’s most…

Seed oils, which you can’t even call food once you learn that it was originally invented to be used as engine oil, is one ingredient that can cause havoc in your body and inhibit hormone production… cutting that out of your diet and replacing it with traditional foods like red meat and dairy will clear your body of toxins from seed oils, but also give your body the nutrients it needs for hormone production…

This may be hard for some people to understand because you are usually told the exact opposite… you often hear that you have to cut out red meat and dairy… many people believe that organic lean meats and veggies is what healthy eating looks like… but that’s far from it… your body needs nutrients found abundantly in red meat and dairy so you need to understand the gaslighting that has occurred here…

Once you see it, you can’t unsee it, and you’ll begin to see it in other areas like the iodized salt rabbit hole…

Newsflash, low iodine is extremely rare in the United States… yet, so many people believe that low thyroid is caused by an iodine deficiency and so they recommend iodine-rich foods and iodine supplements… but what most people don’t know is that too much iodine is actually a cause of hypothyroidism…

Shift your focus to improving your digestion and you will see your thyroid hormone production increase.

How to Get Natural Energy without Restrictive Diets or Supplements

When I say I used to feel exhausted, I’m talking about bone-deep fatigue…

It wasn’t me being distant, dramatic or lazy…

It wasn’t me being just tired or run down…

It was the kind of exhaustion that lives deep in your bones…

It’s hard to explain what a flare was like without sounding dramatic…

I’d wake up feeling like I’d been hit by a Mack truck, even if all I did the day before was exist.

When this happened, my body felt sore and beaten up, like it had been through something physical and brutal…

My muscles and joints ached constantly and deep like everything was inflamed and heavy…

Some days I was just surviving quietly… it took more strength than anyone realized….

The fatigue was crippling…

Not “I could use a nap” tired, but the kind where standing up required me to grab onto a wall…

I felt weak, dizzy, and slowed down, as if I was walking through mud…

Things that were normally manageable suddenly felt overwhelming… Simple tasks required planning…

I would sit in my kitchen without moving… just enough energy to feel unmotivated…

I would feel low and sad for no reason like a flattening of everything.

The flares would happen even when I did everything right…

I’d cut out gluten, dairy, sugar…

I’d take a whole stack of supplements (selenium, iodine, iron, B vitamins, etc…)

… yet my entire system felt like it was under siege… like my body was pulling the fire alarm because of steam from the kettle, and refused to shut it off.

Everything suddenly got louder, harder, and heavier at once.

I was doing everything I could just to get through the day, but nothing worked until I figured out the cells of my body were not getting the nutrients they needed…

It didn’t matter what diet I tried, what supplements I took, or what detox I did…

Something was blocking the nutrients from getting into the cells of my body and that’s when I discovered cellular-level nutrition…

I put together a program Energy Jumpstart, where I share my 3-Step Framework to rebuild your energy.
