Thyroid Diet Plan for Weight Loss

What is the best diet for thyroid patients to lose weight?

The answer may surprise you, but all food is supposed to be good for you…

You may hear about bad foods to avoid like fast food, french fries, ice cream, whatever…

… but what people are really trying to say is that bad foods to avoid are low quality foods…

To design a thyroid diet plan for weight loss, what you need to understand more than anything is QUALITY OF FOOD…

#1 Choosing good quality food is the first component of a thyroid diet plan for weight loss

Let’s take french fries as an example…

What makes french fries bad?

Are potatoes bad or is the oil used to fry them bad?

The answer is both… but this is the key to understand… not all oils are bad, and not all potatoes are bad… it’s the quality of the oil and the potato that’s bad…

This is what I refer to as understanding real food VS fake food…

One of the reasons why people gain weight is because of the bad quality food they consume…

80% of a thyroid diet plan is literally just knowing what foods to avoid with low thyroid…

The biggest ones to avoid is vegetable oils like canola oil, corn oil, safflower oil, etc.

Instead you want to look for traditional sources of fat like butter, ghee, tallow, duck fat, etc.

#2 A thyroid diet plan for weight loss must include healthy fats

One of the biggest mistakes people make when putting together a diet plan is to eat a low fat diet…

Why is that a mistake?

… because your body needs healthy fats to produce hormones…

If you don’t eat healthy fats, your hormone production (including thyroid hormone production) will be low…

“… but won’t fat make me fat?”

This is the biggest misconception because eating a low fat diet often times may lead to weight loss, but not fat loss… and it does it at the expense of hormone production…

Consuming healthy fats will actually help with fat loss and hormone production…

Consuming healthy fat doesn’t make you fat…

#3 How to lose weight fast with low thyroid

Choosing good quality foods and avoiding fake foods (most food sold at grocery stores that you may think is just normal food is actually fake food)…

How so?

… because it’s grown in low nutrient soil and therefore has low nutrient (if any nutrients at all)…

What happens when you consume food with low nutrients is that your gut flora has a hard time digesting…

This not only leads to gas, bloating, or constipation… but it also begins to create an environment for bad bacteria to grow in your gut… bad bacteria meaning yeast overgrowth, mold, fungus, parasites, etc…

That’s what’s really making you fat more so than your thyroid or diet…

… because once bad bacteria colonizes in your gut, then even if you eat good quality nutrient rich food, the problem is that you are feeding bad bacteria in your gut…

How does that lead to weight gain?

The reason why bad bacteria is considered bad is because they don’t make vitamins from food, they steal nutrients and instead produce endotoxins…

Endotoxins are not good for the body… it’s what triggers antibodies and drains your energy…

To protect itself, the body stores these toxins in the fat cells of your body…

You have a fixed amount of fat cells so the more toxins you produce the more fat cells begin to expand that’s what you experience when you start to gain weight no matter what…

When people ask me how did I go from gaining weight non stop to getting into the best shape of my life, my answer is simple…

juicing for hypothyroidism and weight loss

The fastest way to lose weight is to clean your gut…

This is why I started with choosing high quality foods first…

There’s no point in cleaning up your gut if you continue to eat toxic foods… by toxic foods, I’m including low nutrient foods…

#4 Your Thyroid Diet Plan Depends On What You Can Digest

This is the tricky part about designing your diet…

What works for others may not work for you…

How do I find what works for me?

What can you digest?

I want you to keep this question in mind as you go through the diet plan I’m going to share below…

Hands down, the best diet plan for hypothyroidism is to get on a nose to tail carnivore diet…

This, however, was not the case for me initially because my digestion was so bad, I couldn’t digest meat…

I started to develop a lot of food sensitivities and had a lot of inflammation which happens from poor protein digestion…

In my case I had to source out raw vegan foods initially until I started to improve my digestion…

To improve digestion I followed these 3 steps to get more energy & lose weight

#5 How to design a minimalistic diet for weight loss…

I don’t like restrictive diets… and I don’t tell people what not to eat…

Why?

… because they won’t listen anyway and instead I’ve found that it’s so much easier to help people focus on what actually works…

If you want to lose weight, then there are only 3 things you need to focus on… I call this designing a minimalistic diet… your diet should improve your:

#1 Hydration levels…

#2 Vitamin D levels…

#3 and nourishment…

This is what has created many hypothyroidism success stories when it comes to diet…

… and if you really want to lose weight fast, then you’ll want to look into intermittent fasting… however, there is a caveat to fasting with low thyroid… it’s not good to get into fasting if your body is too toxic, have low energy or poor sleep…

I recommend downloading this energy blueprint first, follow it until you feel good energy levels and good sleep, then you can start to implement intermittent fasting to speed up weight loss…

How to Get Natural Energy without Restrictive Diets or Supplements

When I say I used to feel exhausted, I’m talking about bone-deep fatigue…

It wasn’t me being distant, dramatic or lazy…

It wasn’t me being just tired or run down…

It was the kind of exhaustion that lives deep in your bones…

It’s hard to explain what a flare was like without sounding dramatic…

I’d wake up feeling like I’d been hit by a Mack truck, even if all I did the day before was exist.

When this happened, my body felt sore and beaten up, like it had been through something physical and brutal…

My muscles and joints ached constantly and deep like everything was inflamed and heavy…

Some days I was just surviving quietly… it took more strength than anyone realized….

The fatigue was crippling…

Not “I could use a nap” tired, but the kind where standing up required me to grab onto a wall…

I felt weak, dizzy, and slowed down, as if I was walking through mud…

Things that were normally manageable suddenly felt overwhelming… Simple tasks required planning…

I would sit in my kitchen without moving… just enough energy to feel unmotivated…

I would feel low and sad for no reason like a flattening of everything.

The flares would happen even when I did everything right…

I’d cut out gluten, dairy, sugar…

I’d take a whole stack of supplements (selenium, iodine, iron, B vitamins, etc…)

… yet my entire system felt like it was under siege… like my body was pulling the fire alarm because of steam from the kettle, and refused to shut it off.

Everything suddenly got louder, harder, and heavier at once.

I was doing everything I could just to get through the day, but nothing worked until I figured out the cells of my body were not getting the nutrients they needed…

It didn’t matter what diet I tried, what supplements I took, or what detox I did…

Something was blocking the nutrients from getting into the cells of my body and that’s when I discovered cellular-level nutrition…

I put together a program Energy Jumpstart, where I share my 3-Step Framework to rebuild your energy.
