I almost stopped living life because of these

10 Symptoms of Hypothyroidism

I was barely able to perform my daily tasks...

I felt miserable...

At first I thought I was just aging as I became fatigued, gained weight, and started losing my hair...

... but when those became extreme, when...

#1 I gained 32 lbs in less than a month!

I just knew something else was wrong... I felt awful!

It didn't matter what I tried to do or what I ate, I gained weight...

If I ate healthy I'd gain...

If I starved myself, I'd gain...

I wanted to fit into my clothes again!

Sometimes I'd feel better when I didn't eat some foods... especially gluten...

... but that was mostly because...

#2 I Had Digestive Issues

I remember being out with friends and eating just a salad with grilled chicken... On my drive home my gut became bubbly and gassy...

I'd have diarrhea or become constipated...

I wanted to enjoy food again.

Little did I know back then that because my body wasn't digesting food properly, especially proteins and fats I'd often have...

#3 Joint & Muscle Pain

Sometimes I'd cringe with every step I'd take since my feet would decide to burn and sting with pain...

My joints would be tender and swollen...

It was depressing because I enjoy living an active lifestyle...

With all of this going on, and gaining weight... no pun intended, but I was literally...

#4 Losing My Hair

I remember it clearly... I was lathering up my hair in the shower...

I felt a weird texture on my hands... it was my hair!

My hair was on my hands, the walls, the bathtub... everywhere!

I rushed out of the shower and there it was... scalp showing through...

My hair thinning, breaking, falling off!

Especially at my forehead and temples...

Not good for my confidence... I like how I look with thick hair...

I didn't want to be bald or have to wear a wig...

Granted I wasn't worried about looking good for the opposite sex at this point since...

#5 I Had Low Libido... Low Sex Drive...

As embarrassing as it is to publicly admit this, I had a hard time maintaining an erection…

... but I now understand that fertility issues are common when you have hypothyroidism…

I found this wasn't the case just with men... most women with hypothyroidism I talked to also experienced infertility related symptoms like having low sex drive, a hard time conceiving a baby or in some cases had a miscarriage.

I just kept wondering "what is wrong with my body?"

I needed help...

#6 My Skin Was Dry

... and itchy...

Nails were brittle..

Also...

#7 I Had Horrible Brain Fog

I couldn't seem to remember things...

Or focus

I almost stopped living life...

#8 I Became Depressed

... and had anxiety...

I desperately wanted my life back...

I stopped hanging out with friends or doing the things I liked because...

#9 I was fatigued all the time

I had no energy...

I felt like I needed to nap throughout the day...

It was not lazyness...

I was just tired all the time...

I called it being "thyroid tired"...

It was weird because even though I'd be tired...

#10 I Had Trouble Falling Asleep

... but even if I'd slept, I'd wake up feeling like I hadn't slept at all...

I started to research and decided I would do whatever it took to get my life back to normal.

Then almost by accident I figured out...

how to get my energy back, lose weight again, have a sharp mind, grow thick hair, enjoy food again, and live an active lifestyle...
