Hypothyroidism

A Success Story… Part 2

[text_block style=”style_1.png” align=”left” font_size=”16″ font_font=”Georgia”]Once I understood that there were different reasons why people would experience hypothyroidism…

I began my journey to get my health back!!

… but I asked a very different question than most people…

Most people would ask “how do I heal hypothyroidism?”…

… and like I said…

I’m not a doctor…

The information on this site is not meant to treat, cure or prevent any diseases…

… In fact, I stopped focusing on disease altogether and started asking simpler questions like…

“how do I get my energy back?”

… and

“Why am I so fatigued to begin with?”

Here’s what I found…

Ready?

Digestive issues…

I started following people who had experienced the same issues I had and found success…

One of them is Dr Izabella Wentz author of the book The Root cause of hypothyroidism and the documentary “the thyroid secret”…

She understood the same thing I understood about gut health…

Pretty much every problem we come across begins in the gut…

Let me explain fatigue first…

Then I’ll dive into hair loss and others…

Have you ever wondered, what exactly does it mean to have digestive issues??

I had digestive issues… and I felt my stomach bubbly after eating certain foods…

I had a hard time digesting protein…

… and I thought it was just something to do with my stomach…

I didn’t know then that your gut is where digestion happens, but only if you have good bacteria in your gut…

It was the first time I learned that there is good bacteria…

Prior to that I thought bacteria was bad…

I thought I was supposed to get away, avoid and eliminate all bacteria…

I would see it in cleaning products that read “eliminates 99.9% of bacteria”…

… I didn’t know that there were GOOD bacteria…

Much less did I know that it’s the good bacteria that digest food for you, and keep you healthy…

Do you know the difference between good bacteria and bad bacteria in your gut?

I didn’t when I first started…

… but basically good bacteria digest food for you and produce byproducts like vitamins… they release good enzymes… they clean up… they preserve your body…

Bad bacteria on the other hand…

They don’t breakdown food for you… they break down food for themselves… they eat, replicate and the byproducts they produce are toxins…

You can look up or “Google” endotoxins…

Endo meaning it comes from within… endotoxins = toxins that come from within…

Toxins are what I found to be the main source of fatigue…

I found that I had a lot of bad bacteria in my gut so anytime I’d eat, I’d be sleepy after and just feel awful…

I also realized that toxins, when they accumulate in the body it makes the body produce body fat…

This is also why no matter what I ate, or what I did, I kept gaining weight… more on that later…

The point is that everything I started to do was all about fixing my gut by adding good bacteria and reducing the amount of bad bacteria…

Notice how this has nothing to do with hypothyroidism, but it has EVERYTHING to do with getting your energy back…

I’ll share with you what I did to accomplish this, but first let me share what I found about hair loss, dry skin, and brittle nails…

I used to think it was my “low thyroid” causing my hair loss…

I’d also heard that “low thyroid was causing stress”… oh, because another thing I had was high levels or cortisol…

… but get this…

So I learned that cortisol is known as the stress hormone…

Whenever you have elevated cortisol that’s when you become stressed…

You become so stressed you begin to lose your hair… both literally and figuratively speaking…

… but what causes elevated levels of cortisol??

Is it low thyroid?

That’s what I was told… and I mean I guess that’s one way…

… but what came first, the chicken or the egg?

“Is low thyroid causing high cortisol, or is high cortisol causing low thyroid?”

… I actually never bothered to ask that question until I learned about one way your body can experience high levels of cortisol…

So follow along…

Here’s how I learned about it…

I had a hard time digesting protein…

I was doing research on that and found out a couple of things about protein and what happens when your body can’t digest protein…

Since protein is the building blocks your body uses to regenerate itself it will do whatever it takes to source out protein…

So when you eat protein, it’s supposed to break down that protein, and then build its own protein…

… but when you do don’t eat protein or worse when you do eat protein but you can’t digest it, then the body will do whatever it takes to source out protein…

That’s where cortisol steps in…

The body will release cortisol to break down muscle so it can get the amino acids (protein) it needs…

This is literally your body going into survival mode…

Once I understood this I understood why I not only felt like crap when I ate protein… my gut was fighting trying to break that down, but then it would release cortisol to break down muscle because it wasn’t getting the protein through the food I was eating!!

That’s why cutting back on gluten helped…

That’s why eating pineapple and papaya helped because they have protein digestive enzymes and helped alleviate some of the inflammation caused by my inability to properly digest proteins…

… and pushed me further into learning how to fix my gut and digestive issues…

So what did I do?

It’s simple… and it’s also what helped me lose weight…

Again, this has nothing to do with hypothyroidism, yet everything to do with losing weight, getting your energy back, putting a stop to hair loss, clearing your brain fog and many other things…[/text_block]
