Hypothyroidism

A Success Story… Part 1

[text_block style=”style_1.png” align=”left” font_size=”16″ font_font=”Georgia”]”Stop listening to the wrong people!!”

… I did!

As soon as I did I figured out how to get my energy back!!

I couldn’t believe it at first…

I hadn’t felt that much energy in a long time…

I thought I’d just aged, but I found a way to get my energy back…

… and by the end of this series you’ll understand why I did what I did and why it worked for me and why it worked for many whom I’ve shared this information with…

… but before I go much further I have to make sure this disclaimer is clear:

I emphasize that because I’m just a normal guy who started on this journey because I had all these issues going on:

I was fatigued…

I was gaining weight non stop…

I had horrible brain fog…

Dry skin, brittle nails…

Hair loss…

Digestive issues…

Anxiety…

Depression…

… and a ton more…

I was just looking to get my life back to normal…

So here’s what I did…

I started reading books and researched this topic full time back in 2012…

I was so exhausted I could barely do simple regular day to day things around the house like dishes, laundry, etc., let alone work so figuring out my health became my full time job…

Here’s how it started…

I had a friend who happened to be a doctor…

I went up to him and asked him:

“What can you tell me about hypothyroidism…”

He said…

“if you have hypothyroidism you’ll have to take hormones for the rest of your life…”

That wasn’t just any doctor…

He is my friend…

If you have hypothyroidism, you’ve probably heard that as well…

… but I refused to accept that as my faith…

… so I started digging and came across the biggest breakthrough that got me started on my journey…

This is how I realized it was possible to get my energy back…

… and how I was able to lose weight again…

I realized that when I first started researching I was looking for information with an erroneous belief…

… and that’s why I couldn’t tell apart good advice from bad advice…

When you research hypothyroidism online, you’ll read things like…

“oh, you just need iodine, selenium and a few other supplements…”

… or how about…

“foods to avoid… avoid goitrogens, gluten, etc…”

… and…

“eat low fat, high protein…”

etc…

See, those statements can be good advice for some people, but horrible advice for others…

So read carefully now…

I used to think that low thyroid was the ONE problem I had…

I used to think that it was ONE problem and that all the issues like fatigue, weight loss, hair loss, digestive issues and more were caused by that one problem…

… then I learned something very powerful…

I found that it wasn’t low thyroid creating all these issues…

I found the reverse to be more true with most people I came across…

I found that it was a variety of problems causing the one issue… low thyroid…

Totally changed the way I thought of hypothyroidism…

Put it this way…

My old belief:

Low thyroid was causing me stress, weight gain, hair loss, low body temperature, digestive issues…

… then suddenly I realized it was the other way around…

It was my digestive issues, and other problems that were the root cause of things like stress, weight gain, low body temperature and all these things I thought were due to a low thyroid…

So what were those problems??

Well, that’s what Part 1 of this series is about…

I learned about this when I went through Tom Bremeyer’s Hypothyroidism program and here’s what I learned about hypothyroidism…[/text_block]

[text_block style=”style_1.png” align=”left” font_size=”16″ font_font=”Georgia”]Pay close attention to the picture above…

See the process starts out in step 1 and 2 saying that if your thyroid is low, you will produce Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)… so an issue some people have is high TSH…

Read that carefully… some people have that issue… not all…

Not everyone I talked to that is going through hypothyroidism has high TSH…

I’ll share more about why this is important to understand after this so read till the end…

Step 3 says that the thyroid produces 90% T4 and 10% T3… now issue #2 could be that you are not producing enough T4… possibly what everyone including myself thinks is the main problem…

… but again… if that were the only issue, then taking T4 should solve it right?

Wrong…

I met a lot of people who don’t feel well taking only T4… and I’ve also met people who’ve had their thyroid removed… so for some people this is the main issue… but for others, this is just a problem caused by other issues…

You might be starting to understand what I meant in the beginning when I said “stop listening to the wrong people”… if not, keep reading…

Step 4 above says that T4 travels to the liver where it gets converted to T3… so issue #3 could be that if your liver doesn’t convert T4 into T3 then I don’t care how much TSH you produce or how much T4 your thyroid produces, you’re still not getting the thyroid hormone you need because the body uses primarily T3!!

That’s why when I met people with hypothyroidism, some said they took T4 and felt fine… but many said they felt horrible, often times worse taking T4 only, but did well when they took both T3 and T4…

Are you understanding what I understood?

Why people who have a liver issue may be going around the internet telling others that they have to take both T3 and T4… but that’s not always good advice… not for everyone at least…

… and also why I no longer believe that I have to take hormones for the rest of my life…

I read this and started to understand that low thyroid was not exactly the problem but the result of other problems… and I just had to figure out which was the root cause for me…

For some people it’s high TSH…

For some people it’s their thyroid has been removed and they can’t produce T4…

For some people it’s their liver not converting T4 into T3…

… and then there’s another issue…

Ever heard of Hashimoto’s?

I read a book by Dr Izabella Wentz The Root Cause of Hypothyroidism…[/text_block]

[text_block style=”style_1.png” align=”left” font_size=”16″ font_font=”Georgia”]She says that 90% of people with hypothyroidism have Hashimoto’s…

… and she describes it as being an autoimmune problem…

A gut issue…

This is what led me to the next step…

PS I say I’m not a doctor and I’m open about it for one main reason… as I started to understand this information I started doing things that were essentially the exact opposite of what many doctors told me to do…

I didn’t think of it that way of course…

I just thought of it as doing what works to get more energy and lose weight…

Here’s what I found works and why…[/text_block]
