Your digestive system works like a toilet. When you eat food, your body uses water to push food through your intestines. If you are dehydrated, then your body won’t have enough water available to flush itself out. If your body can't push food out of your intestines, then your intestines become clogged with food that begins to rot and that's how bad bacteria grows in your gut.
... and once your gut becomes toxic, then it doesn't matter whether you eat healthy or not because the food you eat will now go into a toxic environment, which by definition means it's full of bad bacteria. (read that as "you will be feeding bad bacteria in your gut moving forward...")

Hydration may sound simple, but it’s about giving your body the raw materials it needs to properly digest food and keep your gut clean.
Hydration is more than just “drinking more water”. You have to make sure your water is clean... you can't do dishes or shower with dirty water, can you?
Well, your drinking water needs to be clean in order for it to clean your gut... then you have to ensure that your water has minerals... without minerals like ionic magnesium your body can't absorb water and hydrate itself...
Without minerals, water will just run through your digestive tract without being absorbed, which is why some people have to urinate frequently...
